While resting on the couch after a long day’s work, how many times would you have thought about hitting the gym next morning or that moment itself? Or maybe turn around your diet to control excess gain of weight? This thought process goes on for hours and by the time you convince yourself to pick up, the evil settles in your mind and diverts you to some other stuff. The mental game is a vicious cycle that goes on and on. However, the fact that you are reading this article; it’s a clear indication of your willingness to break away from the muddle and hit the spot.
Find a valid reason
Nothing can be achieved successfully if there’s no solid reason behind getting something you desire for. Ask yourself a question why you need to lose weight. Do you want a super-sexy figure? Do you want to make people envy of your fitness level? Or is it that you want to impress someone you have a crush on? Segregate your reasons apart and let it play on your mind. Human nature doesn’t allow all the theories to settle in so easily, but reasons like the one above may do wonders when it comes to motivating yourself to get in shape. This ultimately converts into action and finally into results you have been dreaming of all this while.
Set realistic goals
It’s better to live with the pleasure of achieving small objectives than setting up big ones and faltering apart. Replacing the sun with the stars at the daytime will never fit the condition. Similarly, trying too hard to make things happen straight away will do no good to you. Keep a track of your weekly activities such as walking, lifting and the diet. Have a number in your mind, stick to it till the time you start getting results and then, you can gradually increase the intensity to shed more pounds. Small accomplishments will encourage you to take a step further towards the end goal.
Reward yourself
There’s absolutely no point in achieving goals without being rewarded for the same. It’s just like getting an incentive for your hard work along with an encouragement to work even harder next time. For every session and every task you perform, in order to lose weight, reward yourself to keep that positive loop encircling around. Remember, it’s all about guiding your brain to be affirmative rather than negative.
Buy a new kit
Spending bucks on something and having nothing to illustrate it, is quite a worthless feeling. So when you spend all that money on pants, shoes, gym bags and other kits, you got to make use of them. Get up from that couch, get yourself a new outfit and see how that would chomp you to exercise. Keeping them buried in the bag at the back of your closet or in your car is not going to help you one bit. Place it on your bed, hang it in front of your sight and let it torture you till you wear them. This will prompt you to shift gears every time the guilt starts settling in.
Join a group of like-minded people
Your success in life is directly proportional to the people surrounding you. Even though this planet is full of people who want you to fall short, there are few who will always stand by your side no matter what. No one in this world is satisfied with their health levels and in case you thought you are the only one, you are as wrong as Uncle Sam. Team yourself up with friends, colleagues or family members who think the same and put their heads up to make a difference. Implant a sense of competition among the group, as to who is capable of losing more weight in a given week. This works like magic!
Turn them off
There’s no denying the fact that the present generation is being driven by technology more, than the manual endeavors. Have you ever counted the time you spend sitting in front of your computer, TV or with a Smartphone in hand. You don’t even know how many of bags of chips you consume while doing do. Time and again, it’s important to disconnect yourself from all the robotic actions and take part in real-life activities that would actually motivate you. Once you see the other side of the coin, you would realize what pit you had fallen unto, before.
The biggest challenge to maintaining weight-loss motiviation is to overcome all the barriers that build up their place in your brain and keep negating the required actions. It’s high time one should break away from that jinx and make a move right NOW!
